From within an article or Text Set - adjust your activity builder's settings to your preference and click Assign

From the Lexile level dropdown, select whether students will receive the article at their individual Newsela Recommended level (variable by student), or select a specific level to apply to the whole group.

If you want students to be have flexibility to change the level of the article for themselves, toggle the option ON. Toggling this option OFF will lock the students to the level you have selected without an option to change it for themselves. Students will be able to navigate to a different level only once the quiz is submitted on the locked level. You can also hide the lexile level from students.

Alternatively, Where applicable, you can also use the 'Quick Assign' option from the article's card on the Home, Search or Browse pages. Using the Quick Assign route will offer you the option to select the same lexile level for the whole class, or have the article default to each student's individual recommended level. You will also be able to select whether students will or will not have the flexibility to change the article's level on their own.

Click 'Assign' (text set) /` 'Create Assignment' (individual article) to assign to your students at the selected level.
