Overview of Reading Performance

This section of the Progress report provides a snapshot of your reading on Newsela.

  • Average reading level: Reading level is based on the average level of nonfiction texts viewed by student

  • Reading totals: Total texts viewed and average time per text

  • Quiz totals: Total quizzes taken and average quiz score

My Activity

Here you can view your reading activity, quiz and write prompt results, power words and annotations, as well as drill into your activity performance in terms of active reading time, average lexile level and skills practiced.

Filter your results by reading skills and/or grade levels, and define whether to include articles that you spent less than 1 minute on and/or activities that don't include quizzes - or exclude them.

Sort the results by ascending or descending order of performance/dates by clicking the arrows at the top of a column

From here you can click into your completed quizzes to view your responses, and into your Write responses to both view the work and revise it if your teacher returns it to you for revision.
