Access any Newsela Article and click the Print button at the top-right corner of the screen.
Within the Print Options window, make your selections:
Activity Selection
Select any combination of the activities the article includes, by checking their box(es). Un-check any activity you'd like to exclude from print:
Quiz
Write Prompt
Power Words
Toggle 'Include answers' on to print the answers of Quizzes and/or Power Words (if selected) along with the activities. Leave it off to exclude the answers from print.
Image Options
Choose how images will appear on your printout to save ink and paper:
Un-toggle 'Include images' to exclude all images appearing in the header and the body of the article from print.
Keep the toggle on to print the images. You can utilize the checkboxes below to control the image printing settings:Check 'Print header image only' to limit the printout to include only the header image, and exclude all other images from the body of the article.
Leaving this box un-checked will lead to a printout that includes all the images.Check 'Reduce image sizes' to minimize the selected images' size.
Leaving this box un-checked will print the images using their original size and scale.
Once you make your selection, you'll be able to download the article (including your selections) as a pdf by clicking the 'Print' button at the bottom of the Print Options window.
Note: If you are currently on an Individual Trial of Newsela subject products, only a selected set of articles will be available to you for printing, at any given moment. You can find the list of available printable content on your Homepage, by clicking 'View all' next to the 'Printable Content' row.
