We've been busy! Here's a sneak peek at the newest features and improvements released during April and May 2026:
Usage Report: Teacher Drill-Down Page
We updated this report to make tracking educator activity faster. We've consolidated the view: all schools and educator belongs to are now neatly listed within a single row, instead of split across multiple entries. Learn more about the Usage Report here.
Updated Print Menu
Our print experience is getting an upgrade!
Dropdown replaced with checklist-style menu to individually select resources
Ability to print the Power Words vocabulary activity
Image Options toggle to remove images/save ink when printing articles
'Add to Content Promotion' button
We added an 'Add to Content Promotion' button to resources within Newsela, visible to District Admins only, allowing them the ability to quickly add Newsela content as custom links on the 'Promoted at Your District' page.
The button will appear on collections, text sets, units, topics, etc., but not on individual articles.

Newsela content is updated on a regular basis. During this time period the following content updates were introduced:
This curriculum complement in Newsela ELA includes a curated set of texts and videos to deepen student understanding and build background knowledge.
Users can find this new resource on the ELA browse page under the Curriculum Complements tab.
