Luna-Powered Graphic Organizers
Users can now digitally assign graphic organizers for students to complete in Newsela, with the ability to assign or print multiple at once.

Generation Genius ELA Video Lessons
Initial release of videos from our collection of video-based lessons to support K-5, front-of-class literacy instructions.
Newsela Writing Enhancements
Copy/Paste Disable
We added an "Original Thought" toggle to ensure students are writing rather than curating from external resources. Teachers have the power to disable pasting when assigning to students. When disabled, students will not be able to paste content into Newsela Writing.Assignment Editing
Teachers can now edit most aspects their own assignments even after they've been launched and assigned .Writing Assignment Report
Assignment reports now clearly show multiple rubric versions when applicable.
Rubric reports now display category headers above their existing subcategories, making it easier to see how individual criteria roll up. Each category includes a percentage score, giving a clearer picture of student performance at a higher level.
You'll now see a total rubric score percentage for each student - making it easier to interpret overall performance.

This collection taps into students' enthusiasm for athletics to make science engaging and relevant. Each lesson uses high0interest sports topics to illuminate core scientific ideas and connect learning to the real world.
Users can access these materials by navigating to the Elementary, Middle, or High School Collections rows of the STEM browser page (this collection is only available in Newsela STEM. It is not available in Newsela Science.
Expension into 9-12 for STEMscopes NGSS 3D Curriculum Complements (STEM)
Newsela's Curriculum Complement for STEMscopes NGSS 3D is extended into grades 9-12, building on it's original 3-8 coverage. By aligning curated readings and multimedia resources with STEMscopes' 3D NGSS approach, this complement helps high school students deepen understanding, strengthen scientific literacy, and connect concepts to real-world applications. With this expansion, teachers have flexible, high-quality materials to support learners across the full K-12 continuum.
Users can access these materials by navigating to "Curriculum Complements" in the left-hand menu of the STEM browser page (Grades 9-12 of this complement will only be available in Newsela STEM and will not be available in Newsela Science)
