We've been busy! Here's a sneak peek at the newest features and improvements released during February and March 2026:

Browser pages are now consistent across all Newsela subjects, with improved accessibility and design.

The Power Words Report page received a facelift and a new design. We also adjusted the data to display average grade level rather than average word level.

Students can now view and restore previous versions of their document history when working on Newsela Writing assignments. Learn more here.

Newsela content is updated on a regular basis. During this time period the following content updates were introduced:

Simulations are an interactive digital experience for students to engage with science and math concepts. We partnered with PhET to offer unique simulations spanning physics, math, chemistry, earth & space, and biology concepts.

We also partnered with the National Science Teaching Association (NSTA) to develop instructional resources to pair with these simulations.

5 simulations are now available to STEM subscribers, with 100+ more to be available for Back To School 2026.
